Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi has done it again as she continues to deliver high performance athleticism and entertainment on a national stage. After 16 years of retirement from competition, she's transformed from ice maiden to a dancing queen with help from dance partner and British juvenile ballroom and Latin American dance champ — Mark Ballas Jr. on ABC's popular primetime reality show "Dancing with the Stars (DWTS)."

Seldom is history written overnight.

An exception rolled off the typewriter of an unknown newspaper editor in the wee hours between Dec. 7-8, 1941, on an island in the middle of Puget Sound.

With eight words — "These Japanese Americans of ours haven't bombed anybody" — tapped out during production of an "Extra" edition of the Bainbridge Island Review, Walt Woodward wrote himself into the annals of American civil rights.

March has proved to be an eventful month for San Jose's Japantown. Part of the reason can be credited to the city's redevelopment of the "Corporation Yard," or "Corp Yard." Located between 6th and 7th, Taylor and Jackson Streets, the Corp Yard used to be home to San Jose's third Chinatown, formerly known as Heinlenville.

    The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a black pastor in one of the mainline Christian churches, made headlines when television chose to show snippets of his sermons. The response from the general public was "oh, another angry raving black man." Being a fellow clergyman, Rev. Wright helped me to reflect on the role of anger in the ministry. I believe anger has a place in religion and religious people have legitimate reason to rave....
